For those who haven’t seen it yet, here’s an excellent Google spreadsheet add created by Amit Agarwal from Digital Inspiration called Document Studio. It offers a practical way to automate your workflow and increase your productivity. Document Studio allows you to ‘generate sophisticated, pixel-perfect documents automatically from data merged in Google Sheets, Excel files or even Google forms submissions’.
Document Studio supports direct mail, allowing you to easily email documents generated as files attached to your emails. As a teacher, you can use this add-on to collect responses from a form sent to students and combine it with data from a Google Sheets spreadsheet or Excel file created earlier to generate a single document that can take the form of a PDF, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HTML, ePub or plain text. You can share the generated document by email or print it using Google Cloud Print. The operation of Document Studio is easy and simple:
1. Add the source data to a Google spreadsheet or import from Excel and CSV files. You can also create documents from new Google forms submissions.
2. Create your bulleted templates in Google Docs, Google Sheets, or Google Slides.
3. Document Studio quickly generates several documents, one per line on the source sheet, replacing the markers in the model with the actual data. ‘
