Connect your Chromebook to a monitor – ABOUT MAG 2020

You can connect your Chromebook to a monitor or TV with an HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI or VGA port.

Sometimes you need an adapter cable to do this. To find out what type of cable you need, check the instructions included with your Chromebook.

  1. Find the video input and output ports on your Chromebook. (If you’re not sure which ports to use, check the instructions included with your Chromebook.)
  2. Use these two ports to find the correct adapter (for example, DisplayPort to HDMI).
  3. Connect the adapter to the monitor and then to your Chromebook.

Show your Chromebook screen on your monitor

  1. In the bottom right corner, select the time.
  2. Select Settings .
  3. In the “Device” section, select Displays.
  4. Select Internal Mirror. Your screen will be displayed on all connected monitors.

Tip: To view the Chromebook screen on the monitor only, press and hold Decrease brightness .

Adjust your screens

  1. In the bottom right corner, select the time.
  2. Select Settings .
  3. In the “Device” section, select Displays.
  4. To adjust your Chromebook screen, select Internal Display. To adjust your monitor’s screen, select the monitor name.
    • Make items on the screen smaller or larger: In the “Screen size” section, choose an option.
    • Rotate the screen: In the “Orientation” section, choose an option.
  5. [Optional] On the monitor tab, you can also:
    • Change the sharpness of the screen: In the “Resolution” section, choose an option.

Tip: To quickly move windows or applications from one screen to another, on the keyboard, press Search for + Alt + m.
