An insurance executive who worked at Modern Automobiles in Industrial Area Phase 1 was accused of cheating at least 11 customers on their policy renewal payments.
According to police, the manager of Modern Automobiles said the accused, Kiran Choudhary, of the Shiva Enclave in Zirakpur, was working for the company as an insurance executive. She had been receiving money from customers for auto insurance renewals, but the money was not deposited with the organization. A complaint in this regard was made in June and, according to the manager, 11 people had been duped by about £ 1.7 lakh.
Police said the complaint was filed at the SSP window in June 2020, the case was filed on October 16 after verification. Kiran, who has not yet been arrested, has been charged under sections 408 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.
