Two men were denied bail for allegedly using a BB gun to rob a gas station last week in the northern suburb of Lincolnwood.
Sheldon Dean, 20, of Lawndale, and Willie Carter, 20, of West Garfield Park, were both charged with a charge of felony theft, Lincolnwood police said.
Dean and Carter reportedly stole a gas station at the end of October 8 at block 7200 on Avenida Cícero, police said. They fled toward Chicago on the Edens Expressway and left on Kimball Avenue before hitting a pole near Belmont and Christiana avenues.
The pair were found hiding in a nearby yard and taken into custody without incident, police said. A search of the vehicle, which was later determined to have been stolen from Berwyn, revealed money, cigarettes and an air gun that looked like a real weapon.
Dean is due to return to court on November 2 and Carter’s date has been set for November 4.
