Snowmobile safety class set in Kiel | News – About Your Online Magazine


A snowmobile safety course is being offered from Tuesday, November 3, at the Kiel High School cafeteria.

The class will continue on the next two Wednesdays, November 10th and 17th, starting promptly at 6pm. and ending at 9 pm Parents are reminded that they must be ready to pick up students after class.

Participants will learn to practice safe and responsible snowmobiling with instructors certified by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

A new requirement is that all Wisconsin Recreational Safety students are required to obtain a Wisconsin DNR Customer Identification Number prior to the completion of any Recreational Safety Class. The number is the same for hunter safety, ATV safety or navigation safety, if people have taken any of these courses. Students will be asked to provide this DNR Customer ID Number along with their personal information to the instructor. People can obtain a DNR customer ID number by calling WI DNR customer service at 1-888-936-7463 between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm daily, or they can visit a WI DNR Service Center during their scheduled regular hours .
