Erling Braut Haaland supported his teammate in Norway, Martin Odegaard, to prove a great success in the Premier League at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta. The offensive midfielder was loaned to Real Madrid for the remainder of the season by the Gunners, after a deal was struck last weekend.
Odegaard looked set to return to Real Sociedad before Arsenal made their move and Mikel Arteta proved decisive in convincing the player to choose North London over San Sebastien.
The 22-year-old was considered the future of Norwegian football before Borussia Dortmund striker Haaland’s dramatic rise to prominence last season.
However, the two are hopeful of taking their country to a major tournament in the coming years, after the disgust of the European playoffs.
Haaland has praised Odegaard after his transfer to Arsenal was confirmed and he predicts that he will prove a great success under Arteta in the second half of the season.

“It gave me a great feeling and it was important for me to come here. He was crucial.
“I think that every time you go to a new place, you want to make sure it’s good and that there’s a plan. But I think everything here looks good.
“I like the club and I always liked the way the club wants to play. Everything about the club and now as the coach wants to play, I think it is a club that I like a lot. So I think it’s a good game. “
Arteta also has midfielder Dani Ceballos to help and the Spaniard has also worked hard to convince his former Real Madrid teammate to meet him at Emirates Stadium.
“Yes, [Dani] he texted me the other day and he just had good things to say about the club, the manager and everything, “said Odegaard.
“It was also important for me and he was happy that I came here, so it was a good thing for me to meet someone here and hear from someone inside the club too. It’s good.
“It was a busy day, but I have been talking to the club, the coach and it seems to me a great project and a great club,” he added.
“I am very excited and when I had the opportunity to come here, I felt it was a good opportunity to take advantage of it, so I am very happy to be here.”
