Egypt’s petroleum minister visits Ramallah and Israel for East Mediterranean gas forum talks – Economy – Business – About Your Online Magazine


Egypt’s Oil Minister Tarek El-Molla went to Ramallah and Israel on Sunday to have talks with his colleagues on the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum, the oil ministry said.

According to the statement released by the ministry, El-Molla met and held talks with Mohamed Mustafa, the Palestinian president’s adviser for economic affairs in Ramallah, and Yuval Steinitz, the Israeli energy minister, in Jerusalem to support the goals and efforts of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum.

The founding countries of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum include Palestine, Israel, Egypt, Cyprus, Greece, Jordan and Italy.

“The visits aim to crystallize a common vision and a systematic dialogue to develop a regional market, according to the forum letter [comes into effect] in a way that supports member states’ efforts to invest their gas reserves and use existing and future infrastructure through fruitful and constructive cooperation, ”says the declaration.
