BLOOMINGTON (WEEK) – Lights are slowly turning back on OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington after an underground cable caused a power outage on Saturday afternoon.
Since about 3 pm On Saturday, electricity came from generators, but “all critical elements of the hospital, including medical equipment and lifeguards, were fed without interruption, and all hospital care continued without problems,” said the OSF in an evening statement on Monday.
Electricity was partially restored around 7:30 pm. Monday, and the hospital is expected to be restored to full power soon, according to OSF.
For a while, St. Joseph has redirected critical and traumatized patients from his emergency room, but all patients are now being accepted into the emergency room as normal, said OSF.
