Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania says it urgently needs donations.
Michael Smith, the organization’s president and CEO, told Lynn Hayes Freeland of KDKA Radio that the recent blizzard and cold had a negative impact on donations to local stores.
“In the past few weeks, with all the snow and slower traffic, our donations have dropped by about 25%,” he said. “This could add up to about 8,000 donations that we are not receiving.”
Goodwill is asking the public to make a special effort to donate used clothing, shoes and household items with care to the nearest Goodwill store.
