The highly promising young defender Xavier Mbuyamba was one of the most hires under the radar for Chelsea last summer, despite being a perfect juxtaposition of physicality and technique. And, unfortunately, he remained under that radar. In fact, the 19-year-old has yet to play for any Chelsea team, whether junior or senior.

That’s because Mbuyamba suffered a knee injury right after signing for the club, and while he had started training with the team in January, he suffered a setback. How he revealed on social networks yesterday, he had another operation, albeit a minor one – it is not uncommon to have follow-up procedures to clean things up after major knee operations – and therefore will be out for a while longer.
Unfortunately things don’t always go as planned. 3 weeks ago, I had another operation, not as big as the first, but I will be gone for a while. It’s very frustrating, but I have to be patient, the secret is to keep working hard and stay strong so that the return is great pic.twitter.com/1mLJhRZL8K

Mbuyamba should only return at the end of the season if he returns this season, which makes this year a little bit lost for him. Fortunately, he is only at the beginning of his career, so he should be able to recover completely and start showing his qualities to the club.
Machete big back in fact, Xavier!
