Moreno Valley residents and small businesses struggling to pay their electricity bills because of the coronavirus pandemic you can get a discount or more time to pay the bill.
The Moreno Valley City Council, in its December 15 meeting, unanimously approved a new COVID-19 Public Service Assistance program for qualified Moreno Valley electricity customers.
“The city council and I are doing everything in our power to relieve some of the pressure that many of our residents are facing due to the coronavirus,” said Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez in a press release.
Residential customers can get up to 12 more months to pay outstanding electricity bills incurred since March 2020, when the pandemic hit southern California. If customers’ income has dropped significantly as a result of the pandemic, they may also qualify for a discount of up to 30%, which can be applied retroactively.
Small business customers can have up to 24 months to pay their bills.
