Canyon County Sheriff’s Deputies arrest 76-year-old Caldwell man for 2nd-degree murder – About Your Online Magazine

NAMPA, Idaho – The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office announced Saturday afternoon that a 76-year-old man was arrested on charges of second-degree murder in connection with the death of a 56-year-old Nampa man.

According to authorities, deputies responded to reports of a man with a gun and shots fired at Block 16,000 of Portner Road in Nampa around 8:15 am on Saturday. When the police arrived at the scene, they found the body of an unidentified 56-year-old man in the garage of the house.

Ronald Carpenter, 76, of Caldwell, was taken into custody after being found there, according to police. Carpenter and the man knew each other, based on the initial evidence.

Carpenter was arrested at Canyon County Detention Center on charges of second-degree murder.

Officials in the sheriff’s office added that the investigation is ongoing, but no further information would be made available.
