KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Saturday was the perfect day to do a little spring cleaning; too humid to work out, and most youth sports have been wiped out by the rain.
People in Northland looking to clutter can take their unwanted items to the Church of Christ community in Independence, where volunteers would pick up bags and boxes straight from their vehicle.
For every pound donated, Thrift World would donate money to the Community Services League, an organization that provides financial assistance and professional training for the homeless.
“We will continue to feed people, because it is always a matter of responding to the recovery from the pandemic,” said Cindy Isabel, Community Service League. “A lot of that comes to keeping people in stable homes, and with that, it can help people with financial coaching and professional training for people and put them to work.”
The donation campaign continues next Saturday, April 17th in Overland Park at B&B Theaters Overland Park 16, 8601 W 135th St, Overland Park, KS 66223
