“Launching some sketching ideas for SNL. What should I do?” Tesla’s CEO and SpaceX’s chief engineer, 49, tweeted Saturday. Musk is scheduled to perform the show on May 8, accompanied by musical guest Miley Cyrus, the show announced at the end of last month.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk told The Wall Street Journal that he moved to Texas because California ‘considers innovators guaranteed’.

He wasted no time sharing the ideas he would like to see come true: “Irony Man”, a character who “defeats villains using the power of irony”, “Baby Shark & Shark Tank”, who “merge to form Baby Shark Tank “and” Woke James Bond. ”

Musk’s tweets caught the attention of cast member Chris Redd, who offered an issue for the business tycoon’s word choice.

“First I would call Em sketches,” he replied with a laughing / crying emoji.

But Redd noted that his response was not an act of defiance against the next host, like many – including Chrissy Teigen – I have been asking myself.

“it’s okay,” the comedian tweeted on Saturday, reminding those who saw his tweet as a provocation in Musk that he is a “professional talkative (trash)”.

Weekend Update co-host Michael Che said in an appearance on Monday at “Late Night with Seth Meyers” he thought having Musk as a host would be “exciting”.

“He’s the richest man in the world, how can you not be excited about that?” Che added.

After the announcement, cast colleague Aidy Bryant shared a Bernie Sanders Tweet calling America’s wealth gap “moral obscenity” for its Instagram story. Some interpreted his post as criticizing Musk, who Forbes elected the richest person in the world earlier this year, with a net worth of $ 199.9 billion in February.

“America’s 50 richest people today have more wealth than the bottom half of our people,” Sanders tweeted on March 25. “Let me repeat this, because it is almost absurd to believe: the 50 richest people in this country have more wealth than about 165 MILLION Americans. ”

Cast member Bowen Yang also spoke about the host last week, after Musk tweeted, “Let’s find out how Saturday Night Live is live.”

“what (expletive) that means,” wrote Yang in his Instagram story next to a screenshot of Musk’s tweet.

Although Musk is a unexpected choice to host, which some consider controversial, he is no stranger to the entertainment world. He is dating the singer Grimes (real name Claire Boucher), who now goes by “c”, since 2018. The two received a boy last year and called him “X Æ A-Xii”.

Grimes and Musk made headlines after announcing the birth of their son, and his unusual name, on Twitter last May. A day later, Grimes tweeted a full analysis of the name choice:

“• X, the unknown variable

• Æ, my elvish spelling of Ai (love and / or artificial intelligence)

• A-12 = precursor to the SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but not violent

+ (A = Archangel, my favorite song) (metal mouse) “
