Golf courses around the Valley donate fees to family of fallen Chandler Police Officer – About Your Online Magazine

Officer Chandler, Christopher Farrar, was killed in the line of duty on April 29, after being hit by a suspected stolen car, the community is gathering to honor his memory.

On Tuesday, community members helped donate to a cause that supports their grieving family.

It was enough to play a round of golf.

“We try to help as much as we can. We are a public golf course, so we try to support our community as much as we can,” said Ole Berinobis, a golf professional at the Palm Valley Golf Club.

Mickelson Golf Properties is donating 100% of the green fee revenue to his family.

Palm Valley Golf Club at Goodyear is participating along with McDowell Mountain Golf Club in Scottsdale and Ocotillo Golf Club in Chandler.

For golfers, participating is easy. Just book a round of golf.

“You don’t necessarily need to play golf, but if you want to come and donate to the cause, you can go to the golf store and ask for the green fee,” says Berinobis.

He adds: “We have had a lot of people who have paid for golf matches and want to pay more just to donate to the cause.”
