Nick Maton – 0 out of 4

Mickey Moniak – 0 to 3, K

Scott Kingery – 0 to 3, K

Rafael Marchan – 0 to 1, 2 BB

A rare game where the IronPigs attack is completely blocked. Ryan Cordell provided the only blow. Adonis Medina had his third loss and saw his ERA rise to 4.85. Didi Gregorius starts his first start in rehab, but didn’t last the entire game when he came out on top of 6th (hopefully he wasn’t scheduled to play the entire game). Enyel De Los Santos with another solid out, so far at AAA he has a 2.79 ERA with 17 outs for 3 walks in 9.2 innings. How the Phillies think he wouldn’t be an improvement over people like Brandon Kintzler is astonishing.

Nick Matera plays the hero in this one, not only hitting his 5th HR of the season (2-play bomb on 6th), but also hitting the game’s winning single RBI on 8th. Archimedes Gamboa returns to the midfield in this game, his 6th start in the OF this season. Matt Vierling remains a revelation this season with an impressive cut of .296 / .395 / .549 with 4 homers and 5 steals in 71 at-hits.

Jersey Shore is having no luck with the weather this week. They were supposed to play a doubleheader yesterday, but the first game didn’t even end because of bad weather. It was suspended and will continue today as part of another doubleheader.

It wasn’t good for Abel, who was coming off one of his most impressive outings. He didn’t accept the loss in this one, because Alejandro Made and Brendan Bell gave up 8 additional races. The resurgence of Johan Rojas continues as he is riding a 6-game streak with a cut of .367 / .412/ .800 with 3 homers.
