School ends June 21 for Ottawa Catholic School Board students.
In a letter to parents, the board says that online teaching and learning will end on June 21 and there will be no instruction on June 22, 23 or 24. June 25 is listed as a day of professional development.
“This will allow the team to wish their students a safe and happy summer and congratulate them for all they have accomplished this school year,” the letter said. “The three days of June 22-24 will be dedicated to this purpose in all our schools.”
Schools will organize hours during June 22, 23 and 24 for students to retrieve personal items from their schools and return books, Chromebooks and other supplies, the council said.
Staff will be in schools during these days and will follow all Ottawa Public Health guidelines to allow students to be in school at scheduled times. Parents and guardians will not be allowed inside the schools and must wait outside.
