Kia’s first electric vehicle will hit showrooms early next year. O Kia EV6 it’s a handsome, muscular hatchback with up to 480 km of range. It is available in several versions ranging from 167 horsepower to a shocking 576 horsepower Kia, and in rear-wheel or four-wheel drive form.
Kia did not reveal pricing for most editions of the EV6. But the company has begun accepting orders for a special First Edition, available only at launch. It cost $58,500 for the brief 24-hour window when it was available. All 1,500 first editions of the EV6, says Kia, sold out in a single day after the automaker began taking reservations.
The first edition EV6 is a twin engine AWD version in Urban Yellow with black seats, Glacier White with dark green seats or Steel Gray Matte with black seats. Each carries a special badge identifying them as one of the 1,500, an augmented reality head-up display, Remote Smart Parking Assist, a sunroof, 20-inch wheels and a premium 14-speaker Meridian audio system.
Without the special emblem, all this equipment will be available in other versions of the EV6. But the urban yellow color is not. We’ll bring you prices for other EV6 versions when we have them.
