To ensure adequate blood availability in the region, the United Society for Kindling Health (SUKH) Foundation on Saturday organized a blood and organ donation camp at the Community Center in Sector 22.
The camp was opened by Prof Vipin Koushal, Additional Medical Superintendent, PGI, and Prof Santosh Kumar, Department of Urology, PGI. The pair were accompanied by Dr. Pranay Mahajan, Deputy Director, ROTTO, PGI. Professor Kumar encouraged others by donating blood and donating their organs in the field. The field witnessed 70 blood donations and 40 organs.
The event was also supported by the Geeta Kailash Memorial Foundation, which distributes free medicine in three cities. People who have recently recovered from Covid have also applied to donate plasma at PGI.
