As the cyber threat landscape becomes exponentially more complicated, the insurance industry is trying to keep pace. However, many organizations still do not have cybersecurity insurance. Lynn Peachey, director of business development for Arete Incident Response, reviews the basics of these insurance policies.
“Cybersecurity insurance is an insurance policy designed to indemnify and, in some cases, defend an insured organization against the risks associated with maintaining digital environments, networks, assets and data,” she explains.
In this episode of “Cybersecurity Unplugged”, Peachey discusses:
- What does cybersecurity insurance cover;
- What would have happened if the Colonial Pipeline ransomware victim had cyber insurance;
- Risks, rates and trends in the insurance industry.
Peachey serves as director of business development at Arete Incident Response. She holds adjuster licenses in New York, California, Texas and Florida.
