Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Department of Mass Education has released detailed guidelines for live virtual classes online via YouTube streaming for Grades 1 to 8 elementary standard.
In the first phase, eight districts were selected to teach YouTube classes from June 21st to July 2nd.
The distribution of classes by district, subject/chapter to be taught, books to be used, and class time are mentioned as below.
- Classes will be taught according to a common schedule and chapter to be taught as prepared by OSEPA for Classes I to VIII. The teaching of students in grades I through VIII will be broadcast concurrently from a classroom created to a district of a class.
- In a certain period of the daily schedule, a teacher will teach a class of a subject to all students in that class in the state.
- The classes. will be broadcast from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am. at 10:00 am for Classes I to III and from 9:00 am to 10:30 am for Classes IV to VIII with lessons of 60 minutes each. No classes will be held on Saturdays and Sundays to enable teachers for class preparation and other related classes.
DEOs should prepare live YouTube streaming studios by improvising classrooms and arranging the minimum equipment for live streaming YouTube classes as instructed
The MIS unit at Samagra Siksha will handle the technical side of the program in accordance with Letter No. 5038 / MIS OW 9: 6.2021. The Pedagogy Unit will incorporate the academic side of the program.
