Main Street Lorain will host two events over the next two weekends in downtown Lorain.
Main Street Lorain has organized a Christmas in July bar crawl July 24 along Broadway, according to a news release.
Individuals participating are encouraged to wear their ugly and unique holiday gear and stroll along Broadway from bar to bar.
The event will take place between 4 and 11 p.m.
Participating establishments include Broadway Mary’s, Scorchers Draft House, Olde Towne Charleston, Brass & Bronze, Union Town Provisions, Boriken Juke Joint, Game On Lorain, Dodie’s Dockside and the Ariel Sunset Rooftop Bar.
Participants are reminded they also can grab drinks to-go as long as they are staying within the new Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area and using DORA cups
On July 31, Main Street Lorain will host the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival’s production of Romeo & Juliet, the release said.
The event is free and open to the public and will take place at Black River Landing.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive between 6:15 p.m. and 6:55 p.m.
The show will start promptly at 7 p.m. and last two hours.
Lawn chairs and blankets for seating are encouraged.
Those who come out to enjoy the free theatrical performance can bring outside food and beverages, but no alcohol allowed, the release said.
“This is the first time the Cleveland Shakespeare Festival will be performing in Lorain in recent memory,” said Main Street Lorain Executive Director Max Schaefer. “They have been great to work with, and their productions are top-notch.
“Main Street Lorain is very excited to be partnering with their organization this year, and we invite all of Lorain to come out and enjoy a great performance.”
The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival brings professional, high-quality productions to cities across Northeast Ohio each Summer.
In conjunction with local, professional actors, they hope to enrich the arts and culture through the bringing the works of William Shakespeare to life.
