A Burkburnett man was arrested for allegedly taking and abusing an elderly woman’s credit card.

According to the arrest reports:

In May, a woman contacted the Wichita Falls Police Department about Credit/Debit Abuse. The victim told police she had accidentally left her wallet in a shopping cart at the Walmart on Central Freeway. She said when she discovered it was missing, she went back to the store and spoke to security. Surveillance video showed a person pick up the victim’s wallet and walk off with it.

The woman later reported that her debit/credit card was used at several locations around Wichita Falls and Burkburnett, including the Walmart where the card was taken. Charges amounted to nearly $325. Police reviewed the video surveillance from Walmart and the Dollar Saver in Burkburnett. A Burkburnett detective recognized the suspect as Michael Dean Jackson from several other cases.

According to the affidavit, “The store owner at the Dollar Saver at 612 Sheppard Road, produced a very good quality video of the credit card transaction. In that video was without any doubt, Michael Dean Jackson.”

Arrest warrants were issued, and Burkburnett Police arrested Jackson on Tuesday. He is charged with Credit or Debit Card Abuse and Credit Debit Card Abuse- Elderly because the victim is 76 years old. His bond was set at $20,000 by a judge.
