ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Head coach Tim O’Donohue and the Navy men’s soccer team announced its 10-member incoming recruiting class on Thursday. Each of the 10 individuals went through the Naval Academy’s induction days earlier this month as part of the Class of 2025 and have begun plebe summer training.
The Midshipmen’s 10-member class was ranked as the 25th-best men’s soccer recruiting class in the country by Top Drawer Soccer, the highest such ranking for a recruiting class in program history.
“I am very excited about the 2021 class,” said O’Donohue. “It’s a very talented and deep class that I think will do well for Navy men’s soccer in the years to come. They are a group of players that understands the values of the Naval Academy and will be able to excel in the hall and on the field simultaneously.”
Rowan Browne I Defender l Annapolis, Md. l Bickerod Gymnasium
Member of the Akademisk Boldklub club team of the Denmark U19 League … Ranked as a top-150 recruit (No. 117) by Top Drawer Soccer … Appeared in 50 matches with 36 starts over three seasons … Named to the U.S. U14 National Team as a freshman … Garnered honors as the top left back in the Danish National Division as a junior … Resident of Annapolis before moving to Denmark … Son of Carri and Marc Browne.

Played soccer over an extensive club soccer career most recently with the Nomads Soccer Club of the MLS NEXT League where he served as a team captain … Began professional club career with the Hartford Athletic of the United Soccer League … Additionally played club soccer for the Beachside Soccer Club, New York City Football Club, D.C. United U17 team, Everton FC Westchester, Connecticut ODP and Oakwood Soccer Club … Member of the Puerto Rican National Team since 2018 … Took part in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers as a member of the Puerto Rico Senior National Team … Son of Edgar and Marilyn Calderon.

Erik Eads l Forward l Bonaire, Ga. l Hickory
Three-year letter winner at Avon Old Farms and Hickory … Garnered All-District honors following sophomore and junior seasons before serving as a team captain for Hickory as a senior … Also played soccer for the Beach FC club team … Led Hickory to region and conference championships during sophomore and junior seasons … Member of the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society … Four-time recipient of the Student Athlete Academic Excellence Award … Son of Bridget and Christian Eads.

“Charlie is a left footed player who can play three or four different positions. He played for Baltimore Armour and was the captain of that team the last few years. He has an excellent range of passing and plays up to any situation. He also sees the game extremely well and has excellent awareness which you don’t often see from young players.”
Leo Perez l Forward l Cape Coral, Fla. I Mariner High School
Four-year letter winner at Mariner … Named Florida’s Mr. Soccer by the Florida Dairy Farmers after recording 169 points on 69 goals and 31 assists … Additionally was named Florida Dairy Farmers Class 4A Player of the Year following senior season … Named 2018-19 Gatorade Florida Boys Soccer Player of the Year after tallying 47 goals along with 17 assists including 13 multi-goal games and seven hat tricks as a junior … Chosen to compete in the 2019 Allstate All-America Cup after being named an Allstate All-America selection … 2019 Florida Class 3A Player of the Year … 2018 News-Press All-Area Player of the Year … Finished high school career with 364 points on 148 goals and 68 assists … Son of Angela Forrisi and Leonardo Perez.

Noah Ward l Midfielder l Colleyville, Texas l Grapevine
Played club soccer for the Solar Soccer Club … Tallied 14 goals and 14 assists during the 2019-20 season … Member of the Dallas Cup Championship team as a senior along with being a Dallas Cup Championship finalist as a sophomore … Son of Corey and Irving Ward.
“Noah has the ability to be an impact player in his first season. He has excellent awareness of the field and runs at players well. He is calm in the final third and can score or put the ball across the box. He is fast and his off ball running is excellent. He will be a very good player for Navy men’s soccer for four years.”
The Midshipmen are coming off their second-consecutive winning season after going 4-2-1 in 2020 and recording a 12-4-1 mark in 2019. Navy will open its 2021 season at UMBC on Aug. 26 with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
